Happy New Year!

This year I am so thankful for many reasons: my folks who are world travelers returned safely from their latest adventure in Africa, my husband and I celebrated 24 years of marriage, I still enjoy teaching middle school students, I published two books with Prism Book Group and I am celebrating 20 years of being a cancer survivor! God's hand in all of this is so plain to me. I wish you all a blessed 2016. Never stop learning!

Summer Days demand GOOD lemonade

Forget that powdered and frozen stuff. Here's how to make really good lemonade and it's inexpensive. You will need a bottle of lemon juice, sugar, a fresh lemon, water and ice. In a pitcher add one cup of lemon juice, one cup of sugar and two cups of water. Stir with a wooden or plastic spoon.  Add ice.Slice the lemon thinly and add to the pitcher. Pour into tall glasses and enjoy. If you like strawberries or raspberries add them. Simple enough, right?

Summertime writing

Now that things have slowed a bit I am back to writing. I have a couple of works in progress. I am editing book two of the Nebraska Brides series called A Lady for the Lawman to be released in September and I am writing a mystery titled Boji Bound. It's so nice to sit with iced tea and my computer on my balcony and switch hats from schoolteacher to author. And I'm off....

School's out for the summer!

School's out and I am busy preparing for a couple of library visits. I will be at Logan Public Library on June 18 and Griswold June 19.

Oh No! Snow!

This week we had two snow days that cancelled classes. While it was wonderful to turn over and go back to sleep it did mean the school year has been extended two more days. Ugh! Oh well. I was excited to be on Paula Mowery's blog this week. Please check it out at paulamowery.blogspot.com. I talk about how I came to write A Bride for the Sheriff. Friday February 13 I will be on a Sweetheart of a Deal event with e fiction finder.com.  My book will be promoted for 99 cents. Come check it out or go to Prism Book Group. Blessings to you!

Cold weather, warm hearts

Here in southwest Iowa the weather has been absolutely frigid. This past week our school cancelled classes because of the wind chills exceeding 25 degrees below zero. I am using this time to start a new adventure called Okoboji Bound. The first person to comment on this post will be sent the first chapter of the book. No one, not even my family has seen it so post a comment here. If you've been meaning to join my blog please sign up. Members get prizes and sneak peeks.

A blessed New Year to You
